The Five Tools of Business, Personified
In baseball parlance, a "five-tool" player excels at running (stealing bases), hitting for average, hitting for power, throwing and fielding. In business, the five tools required for success are debatable, but considering current trends, five key skills seem vital: A strong business sense, outstanding communication skills, legal knowledge, an international perspective, and a deep understanding of the company's industry.

Through my years of work experience, education and personal experiences, I have built a comprehensive scope of knowledge that encompasses all five of these traits.

Business Sense: As one of the top strategy students at Georgetown's MBA program, I have demonstrated a skill for organized, goal-directed planning and execution. Extensively trained in such core disciplines as economics, finance, and corporate change, my education has contributed to my success on myriad consulting projects such as guiding U.S. manufacturing companies into China and reversing nearly a hundred years of losses for Italy's professional soccer clubs.

Communication Skills: I had my start in marketing and sprinted to the position of account supervisor at a prominent local marketing agency. While overseeing multi-million dollar accounts, I demonstrated the ability to develop campaigns that not only achieved short-term objectives, but also kept the companies focused on longer-term goals in today's challenging business environment.

Legal Knowledge: The increasing entanglement of law and business was the motivation behind my JD/MBA. I have earned my law degree at American University, Washington College of Law, a top-tier school in the Nation's Capital, and will be licensed to practice law within the next few months.

International Perspective: I have traveled extensively (see the Personal Facts section), but it's my experience away from the tour bus that sets me apart from most U.S. students. I've completed projects for clients in both Europe and the Far East, and I am qualified to help any business look for opportunities to improve profitability overseas. Additionally, my dual U.S./E.U. citizenship goes a long way to ease visa restrictions.

Industry Experience: KPMG Italia pegged me as the person to build their internal sport business knowledge base. KPMG trusted my many years studying the operations the most successful sports enterprises. This followed a successful proposal and implementation of a ground-breaking plan to reverse years of losses in Italian football. I am currently drafting a comprehensive legal research project in which I explore the creation of a national professional sports regulatory body.
